Charles Dorris

Charles Dorris began working in the mailroom of a record company while a senior in high school in Nashville, TN. A short while later he started his first artist representation firm while in college. Within 4 years of graduating he was president of Ronnie Milsap’s Headline International Talent Agency in the early 80’s, leaving to form Charles Dorris and Associates in 1986, which he sold to the William Morris Agency in 1993. During the next 15 years he headed WMA’s Christian Music Department, rising to the level of Senior Vice President. In January of 2009 he again launched his own business, focusing on artist representation, the live concert business and consulting.

During his career he has represented many Christian and country artists including Reba McEntire, Randy Travis, Diamond Rio, Ronnie Milsap, Ricky Skaggs, Buddy Jewell, Steven Curtis Chapman, Switchfoot, Flyleaf, Kirk Franklin, CeCe Winans, Jaci Velasquez, Jars of Clay, Petra, The Newsboys, Audio Adrenaline, Michael Card, Twila Paris, Israel Houghton, and many more.

He serves on the boards of the Gospel Music Foundation and the Gospel Music Association, having recently been chairman of each organizations board of directors. He is a past board member of the International Entertainment Buyers Association, Nashville Association of Talent Directors and Rocketown, having served as board chairman. He is an alumnus of Nashville’s prestigious Leadership Music program, having served as co-chairman.

Charles and his wife Rebecca have three daughters, all adopted from China. He is a native of Nashville and holds a Music Business degree from MTSU.
